Time flies so fast that it seems almost impossible to believe that I was the one in school a couple of years ago writing and learning alphabets again. It was interesting though not because I liked alphabets but because it was a new language, new alphabet and a new system of learning. Indeed I was in my teens back at the time but when I got to class, I felt like a juvenile being taught alphabets all over again. I was a big guy in a crèche being taught and spoon-fed by my lovely teachers. Funnily enough, I remember how I was called to the board one day in class to trace the writings of my teacher. My friends laughed at how funny and crooked my image looked like on our small green chalkboard.
In spite of these challenges my mates and I never left fun out during lessons. We made a mockery out of every situation which occurred in our class irrespective of our teachers in class. Our teachers never cared about that though maybe because they were all women and they saw us like children. In fact, they were like mothers to us and they added more fun to our class. There were memorable times when we used to play with hand puppets. Really! Did I do that too? I was right when I said we were like kids in a crèche. In contrast to these fun periods in class, we had bitter, angry, sad and discomforting periods as a result of cold and freezing weather with snow almost climbing up to knee level. We really got moody at some points in class.
I possibly cannot and should not forget such good memorable days. Now I could praise my alphabetic writings but not so much to compare thanks to my wonderful and hardworking teachers. I deem it such a great privilege to be taught by them. Not to forget my amazing mates who made such a time interesting. Kudos to us.
